New Mercury Racing Outboards: It is primarily intended for high-performance models equipped with short ram trim systems including the Mercury Racing APX (APEX) Competition Outboard series such as the 3.4 Liter V6 200 APX, 4.6 Liter 250 APX, and 360 APX (with 12-inch Mid Sections).

Older High-Performance Mercury Models: This includes legacy high-performance Mercury outboards that utilize the same "short" trim ram, such as the 2.5 Liter EFI / ROS and 300 Drag (15" Mid Section), SST-120, SST-140, S3000, F1, SST-200, 200XS (12" Mids).
